I&E DRAFTING TECHNICIAN I
The I&E Drafting Technician I will be responsible for creating and modifying AutoCAD 2D drawings & 3D models using input from engineers, project managers and designers.
Position Details
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Work directly with engineers, project managers, and other members of the Engineering Department to produce
CADD drawings from specifications, source drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions. Including but not limited to
3D models, Junction boxes, Control Panels, Plan drawings, and other engineering documentation.
Develop project documentation in accordance with MCSI, client, and industry drafting standards.
Develop & Maintain Electrical & Instrumentation CAD Library.
Work closely with all departments to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free.
Develop foundation for design files.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILIY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job mainly operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. However, the employee may also be required to travel to customer job locations where the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and moving mechanical parts. The noise level at customer job locations can be loud. In addition, depending on the customer location, the employee could be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions, including temperature variations. Some working environments may be outdoors or in un-air-conditioned facilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours each week.
TRAVEL & LOCATION
Minimal travel is expected with this position.
This position is on-site in the Katy, TX location.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent and 1-5 years’ experience in the preparation and delivery of complex drafts and designs for dimensional and abstract project data.
Proficient with AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D.
Experience with Autocad 2020 or later.
Knowledge in drafting standards. Such as drawing scales, layers, dimensions, plotting.
Knowledgeable with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Teams.
Knowledgeable with NEC is a plus.
Knowledge of electrical & instrument drawings and symbols is a plus.
Experience with Cadworxs / Electroworx is a plus.
Ability to read and write English, follow policies.
Relevant trade school experience and/or an associate’s degree in computer drafting.

Possession of or ability to possess a TWIC card.
WORK AUTHORIZATION & SECURITY CLEARANCE
